Our Programs, Services, and Rates

Effective March 7, 2011: Over the past year, we realize that many people (including us) have been adversely impacted by the recession.  During periods of high stress, it is more important than ever to take good (or better) care of yourself!  We want to do our part to make training more affordable for you!  Therefore, in light of the recession, we have decided to discount our prices for most of our training services.  In addition, please note that all listed prices now reflect the total cost of your service (including 8.25% sales tax) to make budgeting easier for you. The quality of our services, however, will not be reduced :-).  We invest a great deal of time and effort into all of our clients, and this will not change. We do hope that you will enthusiastically refer our services to friends and family. For now, let us help you manage your stress and overall health!
Why are we doing this? It's simple, really.  We are also Americans who understand hard times.  We believe in karma and doing the right thing.  We know that we have the skill and training to help many people improve their present state of well-being. While we cannot work for free, we do want to help out in any way that we can.
How long will this last? At some point, we will return to our regular rates (which are certainly well deserved).  However, we do anticipate that we will be able to continue offering these discounts to you at least until the summer.  

Training styles include, but are not limited to, kettlebell training, TRX suspension training, metabolic conditioning, and traditional strength training programs. We use various types of tools & techniques for each session. We pride ourselves in diversity, quality, and effective training programs. If you have any questions, please contact us. Please let us get to know you, discuss your goals, and determine if training at the Underground is right for you! We will also put you through a scaled down, 45-minutes workout.

6-Week Semi-Private Circuit Training Groups (12-24 sessions): $400-$475/person

This is where you get the biggest bang for your training dollar, especially if you can't afford to train 1x1. These small group sessions consist of 2-3 people, and focus on all elements of integrated circuit training.  We use a wide variety of training tools including kettlebells, body weight, suspension training, indoor cycling, treadmills, free weights, etc.  We use is all in these classes!  If you're interested in working in a dynamic training atmosphere but can't afford 1x1 rates, grab a friend or co-worker and train with us together! These sessions can be co-ed. For experienced exercisers and those who have been through our programs, sessions last around 60 minutes each.  If this is your first time participating in one of our 6-week programs or if you are new to working out, we fully expect to spend a little more time during each session to focus on form and accommodate your endurance level.  So, your first 6-week program may have sessions running around the 75 minute mark, including warmup, cooldown, and stretching.  In addition, particularly for those new to working out, we try to limit group sizes to 2 people for safety, instruction, and workout pace.  However, once you're  a veteran to our programs, we are able to put you in a 3-person group that moves at a faster pace.  We also offer optional nutritional advice and a live food tasting session (1.5-2 hours) for an additional $20 to cover food costs. This provides you a complete wellness package, focusing on exercise and proper eating to maximize your results. Our clients have very much enjoyed the food tasting sessions and nutritional advice component of their program.  Please refer to our class schedule for small group training days and times. If you would like to request a specific time slot, please let us know. We will do our best to accommodate you!  We have 3 different types of 6-week small group packages to offer you.

Group Cardio Conditioning Classes: $40 for 4 classes; $80 for 8 classes
We typically use indoor cycling bikes for our group cardio conditioning classes. We also integrate these classes with kettlebell training, which we refer to as our "Bikes & Bells" classes.  However, we may focus on other elements of cardiovascular conditioning during these sessions as well. Classes may be purchased in groups of 4, and classes must be redeemed within 6 weeks of purchase. Please refer to our class schedule for class times. Advance registration is required for each class. Class sizes are limited to 4 participants.

Every person has different goals & objectives, and we design programs with the individual in mind. Our on-line clients have been very happy with the quality, variety, and detail in our custom programs. We put alot of time and effort into our custom programs, including exercise descriptions and pictures; we also provide customized worksheets to track your progress for each workout for an additional nominal fee.  All on-line programs include free, unlimited e-mail consultation for the duration of your program.  We will consult with you and prepare a quote before we begin working on your program so that there is no confusion regarding what you will be getting for your money. We will begin working on your program upon receipt of payment (half due up front and the remainder due upon delivery).  Due to the intense time commitment, detail, and preparation on our part, customized on-line programs are not refundable. 

1x1 Personal Training Sessions: $50/session or $425 for 10 sessions
(regular price: $55+tax/session or $450+tax for 9 sessions)
Individual training sessions are held in our personal studio and outdoors. Sessions are typically 60 minutes in length. We also offer a discounted bulk package rate of 10 sessions. Bulk training sessions must be paid in full, but the payment plan will also be honored. Personal training sessions may include any mix of training modalities, depending upon your goals.

Kettlebell Orientation Seminar (2 hours): $80 for one person; $50/person for groups of 2-6 people
(regular price: $115+tax for one person; $65+tax/person for groups of 2-6 people)
We offer a 2-hour kettlebell orientation seminar geared toward the beginner or novice kettlebell enthusiast. This session is especially great if you are interested in kettlebells, but have never picked one up before. We focus on learning 6 foundational kettlebell movements: swing, clean, press, squat, windmill, & the turkish getup; time-permitting we cover the snatch. Kettlebell seminars are limited to a maximum of 6 participants to allow for personalized greater attention. We also offer an intermediate level workshop for a flat fee of $50 per person. In the intermediate session, we focus on some new movements, technique, and advanced drills (double kettlebell, flow drills, metabolic conditioning, etc).

TRX® Suspension Training Elements: $80 for one person; $50/person for groups of 2-4 people
(regular price: $115+tax for one person; $65+tax/person for groups of 2-6 people)
If you want to learn what suspension training is all about, our TRX® elements course if for you! We limit these sessions to a maximum of 4 people. We will review setup, numerous exercises & technique, and conclude with a 20-minute full-body circuit training session. Please plan for up to 1.5 hours for this session.

First Responder Discounts: 10% off most programs & services
We always offer a 10% discount on our services to all first responders, military, police officers, and firefighters. We appreciate all that you do to keep us safe and to protect our country. Please note that this discount does not apply to on-line programs, AoS, or TRX product purchases.

Spinning/Group Fitness Instructor:
We have have been actively teaching in the fitness industry since 1998. We have taught many genres of fitness including group exercise (step, hi-lo), indoor cycling/Spinning, kickboxing, group strength training, and aerobic dance. We have taught at the University of Maryland College Park Camus Recreation Facilities, World Gym, Gold's Gym, and the Riata Gym (in Austin, TX).  We are comfortable teaching large groups, small groups, and 1x1.  From a Group Fitness perspective, we now prefer teaching Spinning/indoor cycling classes and are Star 2 level instructors by Mad Dogg Athletics. Naturally, we are also available to teach bootcamp classes and full body conditioning classes.  Please contact us if you are interested in having us teach at your facility. Our rate is competitive, yet commensurate with experience.

NOTE: All small group and 1x1 training sessions and packages are non-refundable once programs have started. You are making a commitment to yourself and to your health.  Be accountable. Be committed.
